Operation Details
'Aktion Bär' was a German 'radio game' (deception of the opposing intelligence service) against the USSR (1942/May 1945).
,After the arrest of a number of agents of the 'Rote Kapelle' (red orchestra) Soviet intelligence ring in Germany, the Germans used their radio transmitter in several attempts to deceive the Soviet intelligence service. The German effort was supervised initially by SS-Gruppenführer und Generalleutnant der Polizei Heinrich Müller, the head of the Gestapo, and then by Martin Bormann, Adolf Hitler’s personal secretary and head of the Parteikanzlei (party chancellery).
