Operation Details
'Anti-Atlas' was a German unsuccessful attempt to fly agents into Allied-liberated North Africa (January 1943).
,The undertaking represented an effort by the Abwehr intelligence service to land agents in Algeria to establish the nature of the Allied forces in that French territory, what these forces were planning in the shorter term to complete the defeat of the Axis forces in North-West Africa, and whether or not the Allies were intending in the longer term to launch an invasion of southern France or even Italy from Algerian ports.
