Operation Details
'Baus Au' was a US plan by Brigadier General Bradford G. Chynoweth, commander of the Filipino and US forces on the Visayan islands group in the Philippine islands archipelago, to stockpile weapons, ammunition and key supplies in order to facilitate a later guerrilla war by stay-behind forces in the event of a successful Japanese onslaught on the islands (late 1941/early 1942).
,As a result, later guerrilla operations on an extensive scale did much to undermine Japan’s garrison in the islands in the period from 1942 to the time of the US 'King II', 'Victor I' and 'Victor II' counter-invasions in 1944.
