The 'Bayern-Linie' was the German second intermediate fallback position in Belorussia, in the area of Kholm and Baturino, during the withdrawal of Generalfeldmarschall Günther von Kluge’s Heeresgruppe 'Mitte' from the Rzhev salient area toward the 'Büffel-Stellung' (12/13 March 1943).
