Operation Details
'BEC' was the designation of Allied military convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the route from ports of the Bristol Channel to northern France, and as such reciprocals of the 'EBC' series (October/December 1944).
,The series began with BEC.1 that departed Barry on 10 October with the 4,763-ton US Agwidale, 7,207-ton US Charles Fort, 7,210-ton US John L. Elliott, 7,176-ton US John Wanamaker, 7,176-ton US Joseph Story, 1,917-ton Norwegian Rolf Jarl, and 7,191-ton US William Tilghman, and ended with BEC.59 that departed Barry on 6 December with the 2,905-ton British Empire Ransom and 1,791-ton British Jesse B. Cotting.
