Operation Details
'Brandy' was a British special forces raid on German shipping in the harbour of Florø in the western part of German-occupied Norway (14/15 February 1943).
,Undertaken by seven men of Nos 10 (Inter-Allied) and 12 Commandos, this was an essentially Norwegian-implemented operation with Lieutenant Rommetveldt in command. The commandos were carried in two Norwegian-manned motor torpedo boats (MTB-619 and MTB-631), which torpedoed the 1,249-ton German merchant ship Optima and laid mines which claimed another German ship. The motor torpedo boat MTB-631 ran aground and had to be abandoned.
