CP (ii)

'CP' (ii) was a British naval undertaking to sink blockships in the entrance to the harbour of Dieppe on the north-east coast of France and thereby deny the Germans the opportunity to use the harbour until the obstructions had been cleared (10/11 June 1940).

The undertaking involved the destroyer Vega and three blockships (1,262-ton Jacobus, 2,420-ton Kaupo and 1,525-ton River Tyne), which departed Portsmouth for the task. After 'CP' (ii), Vega was used to provide support for the evacuation of British personnel from Le Havre.
