'Eisfjord' was the German alternative designation for the raid against Spitsbergen island, undertaken by the battleship Tirpitz, on the only occasion the battleship ever fired her guns in anger, the battle-cruiser Scharnhorst and nine destroyers, and otherwise known as 'Sizilien' and 'Zitronella' (7/9 September 1943).
