'Eruption' (i) was the British movement of the advanced headquarters of Lieutenant General Sir Oliver Leese’s Allied Land Forces South-East Asia, successor to General Sir Henry Giffard’s 11^th Army Group, to Kandy in Ceylon to prepare 'Zipper' for the British and Indian invasion and reconquest of Malaya (spring 1945).
