Operation Details
'Flower' was a British programme of low-level night intruder missions by de Havilland Mosquito warplanes over German airfields (26 March 1944/8 May 1945).
,The tactic was employed primarily against German night-fighters, whose crews lived in great fear of nocturnal operations as their Naxos radar equipment warned of the presence of radar-equipped British night intruders at the German machines' most vulnerable moments when they were flying straight and level at low speed during take-off and landing, and therefore could not undertake evasive manoeuvres.
