Operation Details
'HA' (i) was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the route from Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Aruba or CuraƧao, Netherlands West Indies, and as such reciprocals of the 'AH' (i) series (1942/September 1942).
,These four convoys replaced those of the 'HT' series. The first was HA.1 of 5/14 July with the 8,238-ton Norwegian Britamsea, 8,470-ton British British Destiny, 8,156-ton US Christy Payne, 8,190-ton British Cordelia, 9,003-ton US F. Q. Barstow, 8,937-ton British Iroquois, 7,417-ton Norwegian Marit II, 9,069-ton British Reginolite, 9,720-ton Norwegian Velma and 4,668-ton Dutch Woensdrecht escorted by the Canadian corvettes Halifax, Oakville and Snowberry. The last was HA.4 of 19/28 August 1942 with 32 merchant vessels escorted by the British warships in the form of the destroyer Firedrake, escort destroyer Ripley, and corvettes Alisma, Loosestrife, Pink and Sunflower.
