'Hansford' was the British Royal Air Force element of the 'Bowery' and 'Oppidan' (i) undertakings to deliver Supermarine Spitfire fighters from the flight decks of British and US carriers for the reinforcement of Malta’s air defences (7/9 and 17/18 May 1942).
