'Houndsmith' was a British special forces undertaking by thed Special Air Service near Dijon in the east central part of German-occupied France (1944).

A group of almost 150 men was parachuted into th target area to attack German lines of communication, and as well as inflicting a considerable number of casualties on the Germans cut rail lines in the area in more than 100 locations,
