Operation Details
'Ibrox/Quail' was a British unrealised special forces operation for 11 men of the 2nd Special Air Service and two Norwegians to destroy the Snåsamoen railway bridge near Trondheim in the northern part of Trøndelag in German-occupied Norway (26 March/7 April 1945).
,'Quail' was the reception party that would be sent from Stockholm in neutral Sweden. As a result of bad weather the parachute delivery of the 'Ibrox' party was cancelled at the beginning of April, but the reception party had left Stockholm on 26 March and reached its destination on 30 March. From here it established radio contact, but on 4 April the party was forced back to Stockholm, which it reached three days later.
