Operation Details
'Ingeborg' was a German and Croat operation against the partisan forces of Marshal Josip Broz Tito in the area to the east of Karlovac and north of the Kupa river in the puppet state of Croatia in German-occupied Yugoslavia (7/8 May 1944).
,Undertaken by elements of Generalleutnant Helmuth von Pannwitz’s 1st Kosaken-Kavalleriedivision and unknown elements of the Croat army, the operation was a small sweep that failed to pin the relevant partisan forces. The Germans lost one man killed and two others wounded, while the partisans lost 73 killed and 36 captured.
