'KA' (i) was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the route from Kilindini, Kenya, to Aden, and as such reciprocals of the 'AK' series (October 1942/December 1943).
,The first of the series about which some definitive information has survived is the KA.4 convoy of 14/20 November 1942 with the 7,063-ton British Salween and 7,936-ton British Takliwa escorted by the 16,738-ton British armed merchant cruiser Ranchi, Free Greek destroyer Vasilissa Olga, and Australian minesweepers Cairns and Wollongong. The last of the series was KA.9 of 17/26 December 1943 with the 8,303-ton British Manela and 7,063-ton British Salween.
