Operation Details
'Martin' (i) was a British operation by the Special Operations Executive in which G. Solberg was instructed to go to the county of Troms in the north of German-occupied Norway before establishing contacts and setting up a radio base in preparation for an operation to organise and assist local resistance groups in this area (20 December/late December 1942).
,Solberg left Stockholm on 20 December with a courier, and the radio equipment was sent separately to Trondheim. Both men were arrested at the Swedish border, however, and Solberg was not released until 5 March 1943. He then travelled to the UK to become the radio operator for the main 'Martin Red' operation.
