Operation Details
'Noball' was the Allied overall designation of operations by fighter-bombers and medium bombers against the ski site launching ramps for V-1 flying bombs built by the Germans in northern France and in the Low Countries for the bombardment of the UK (5 December 1944/spring 1945).
,These operations destroyed very large numbers of ski sites, but the Germans were still able to launch a moderately intense campaign against southern England. The Allies had also feared for the safety of the land, sea and air forces being grouped in the south for Overlord, intelligence reports having credited the V-1 weapons with an accuracy considerably greater than in fact they possessed.
