'Planspiel III' was the German penetration of the French defences of the Maginot Line between Teting sur Nied and Wittring by Generaloberst Erwin von Witzleben’s 1^st Army of Generaloberst Wilhelm Ritter von Leeb’s Heeresgruppe 'C' in the 'Rot' (iii) second phase of the Battle of France (June 1940).
