This was a British unrealised plan by Admiral the Lord Louis Mountbatten’s South-East Asia Command to take Phuket island off the coast of Japanese-occupied Thailand and develop it as a forward base for operations, such as ‘Zipper’, farther to the south in Malaya (January 1945).
