Operation Details
'RS' was the designation of Allied West African convoys (together with a numerical and sometimes a literal suffix) plying the route from Gibraltar to Freetown, Sierra Leone, and as such reciprocals of the 'SR' (iii) series (February 1943/March 1945).
,The first of these 31 convoys was RS.1 of 11/19 February 1943 with the 7,268-ton British Calumet, French Cap Pinede, 4,678-ton French El Biar, 5,199-ton Dutch Ittersum, 7,350-ton British Lycaon, 7,194-ton British Ocean Vengeance, 7,174-ton British Ocean Viceroy and 6,527-ton British Theseus, and the last was RS.25 of 17/23 March 1945 with the 14,134-ton Dutch Boissevain and 14,139-ton British Highland Monarch.
