Operation Details
'Scapula' was a British unrealised operation by the Special Operations Executive to send a whaleboat with two instructors, a radio operator, arms and equipment to the island of Senja in the north of German-occupied Norway to assist local resistance groups in their efforts to resist the German evacuation of the local population (November 1944/January 1945).
,In November 1944, E. Johansen of the 'Gudrun' station of the Special Intelligence Service (MI6) on Senja asked London to supply local groups with the weapons with which they could resist Germany’s forced evacuation of the population. In the end Johansen decided against the proposal, which was then cancelled.
