'Spam' (ii) was an Allied diversion, in support of 'Nunton' and thus 'Diadem', taking the form of a naval demonstration off Civitavecchia in western central Italy, in an attempt to make the Germans think that an Allied landing might be made behind their left flank (24 May 1944).
