Operation Details
'Stencil' was a British radio deception, within 'Cloak' (ii) and also related to 'Pippin', intended to persuade the Japanese that the headquarters of Lieutenant General F. W. Messervy’s Indian IV Corps had not moved and was thus still located for the formation to cover a possible right-hook movement down the Gangaw valley (January 1945).
