'Van Dyke' was a US tactical signal deception to supplement 'Quicksilver I' by suggesting that the air support parties of Major General Otto P. Weyland’s XIX Tactical Air Command had linked with Lieutenant General George S. Patton’s US 3^rd Army (16/20 June 1944).
